Skills West

The WTPN and Business West have formed a strategic skills partnership around a successful bid for a European Union and UK SFA funded project that has been commissioned by the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership.

This project has now been developed as Skills West.

The purpose of Skills West and the on-going partnership is to bring employers and skills/training providers closer together with the aim of a more responsive regional skills system.

If you are an employer, you have an opportunity to benefit in a number of ways from this programme and subsequent skills service:

  • Are you an SME (under 250 employees) that would like a free skills advice service (depending on the nature of your need this could be on-line, face to face or over the phone) that could advise you on Govt grants, funding and training  services to suit your business needs?

  • Would you like to take part in an immersion event with other key employers and training providers in your specific sector looking at collaborating and desigining/developing the most cutting edge training to suit your needs?

  • Would you like to join an employer led sector group helping shape the future of your industry?

  • Would you like to present your views on skills needs in a regional survey and ensure your voice is heard?

  • Do you want to get involved with education and training, and learners currently at 6th form, college, University or at independant training providers through work experience or engagement activities (work shops, talks, careers fairs etc). Many progressive employers are getting more involved in this kind of engagement which produces more work ready candidates and shines a spotlight and encourages applicants and students into your sector

Engagment with Skills West will be tailored to suit your needs.

Just get in touch and we can help you with skills, recruitment and training…
