Education and Employers are the project partner delivering the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge for Schools (ASK) project on behalf of the National Apprenticeship Service again this year.
We have been funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency for a third year to provide free apprenticeship support to schools and colleges, to support the government aim of having 3 million people in apprenticeships by the year 2020. This service is entirely free of charge to schools and colleges.
I will be again leading on delivering the ASK project to schools within your area. We are able to deliver up to four of the below activities over two days to students aged 15 to 19, teachers and parents:
· Assembly presentations
· Have-a-go workshops (Interview skills, understanding competency frameworks)
· Find an Apprenticeship registration workshop
· Apprenticeship application workshop
· Mock assessment sessions
· Careers fair attendance with resources
· Parents events
· Teacher CPD session
· Apprenticeship ambassador involvement in presentations/workshops
We are keen to link some of these sessions with employers and training providers, and I will be posting appropriate events onto the forum throughout the year. Please get in touch if you would like more information about ASK.

The Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN) is also a great way for employers to engage with schools. Young apprentices are working with the ASK Project in many of our sessions with schools. They also receive training and support throughout their time as YAANs, as well as attending a graduation ceremony upon completing their apprenticeship. They promote their company and talk about their experience as apprentices.
