WTPN Inclusion & ALS Collaborative

Building confidence, sharing expertise and improving outcomes for learners

The network is launching a new Inclusion & Additional Learning Support (ALS) Collaborative, bringing together a small cohort of providers committed to strengthening inclusive practice and improving support for learners.

Across the network we see organisations tackling many of the same challenges; identifying learner needs, evidencing support, navigating ALS funding requirements, preparing for Ofsted, supporting employers and developing effective processes that work in practice, most importantly, supporting the learner every step of the way. Whilst every organisation is different, there is enormous value in learning from one another and developing solutions together.

The Inclusion & ALS Collaborative has been designed as a practical, action-focused community where members can share experiences, explore challenges, access specialist expertise and develop resources that can be used within their own organisations.

What makes this different?

This is not a traditional training programme.

The collaborative will bring together a small group of providers who are willing to openly share practice, test new ideas and work together to create practical outputs that benefit all participants.

Alongside facilitated discussions and expert input, members will have the opportunity to contribute to and access:

  • Best practice examples for supporting all learners, building a strategy that is inclusive.

  • Examples of effective assessment and evidence-gathering approaches

  • ALS and learner support resources

  • Learning support plan and review templates

  • Practical processes and guidance documents

  • Ofsted and inclusion prompts

  • Shared resources and recommended suppliers

  • Ideas for using technology and AI to support inclusion activity

  • Peer support and problem-solving between sessions

Expert input and specialist support

We are delighted that Rupert Crossland will be supporting the programme, helping participants better understand ALS evidence requirements and reviewing the approaches developed by the group.

Additional guest contributors will also be invited throughout the programme in response to the priorities identified by participants.

Programme Structure

The collaborative will run between November 2026 and March 2027 and will include:

  • Five face-to-face sessions in Bristol

  • One online concluding session

  • Dedicated Teams space for collaboration and resource sharing

  • Ongoing opportunities to exchange ideas and ask questions between meetings

Founding Cohort

To ensure discussions remain practical, supportive and action-focused, participation will initially be limited to a small number of organisations.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from providers who would like to help shape the programme and become part of the founding cohort.

Interested?

If you would like to find out more about the Inclusion & ALS Collaborative, discuss whether it is right for your organisation, or register your interest in joining the founding cohort, please contact Alex.richards@wtpn.org.uk
